Information about RoHS

Absence of harmful substances acc. to RoHS II - directive 2011/65/EU and commission delegated directive (EU) 2015/863 amending annex II to directive 2011/65/EU as well as GefStoffV annex IV - no. 24
The components of the indicated items are free of harmful substances according to directive 2011/65/EU and 2015/863/EU (so-called RoHS III) as well as acc. to the hazardous material regulation (GefStoffV) appendix IV no. 24 medium of flame protection.
This means that for the following substances based on the guidelines as well as on the requirements of SAB BRÖCKSKES GmbH & Co.KG, the following quantity and content limits were specified, below which a declaration can be dropped:
•  lead < 0.1% •  di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) < 0.1%
•  mercury < 0.1% •  benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) < 0.1%
•  cadmium < 0.1% •  dibutyl phthalate (DBP) < 0.1%
•  hexavalent chromium < 0.1% •  diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) < 0.1%
•  polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) < 0.1% •  pentabrominated diphenyl ether < 0.1%
•  polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) < 0.1% •  octabrominated diphenyl ether < 0.1%
•  decabromo diphenyl ether (DecaBDE) < 0.1%    

Information on REACH

Regulation (EC no. 1907/2006) for the registration, evaluation, admission and restriction of chemical substances
The REACH regulation for chemicals establishes guidelines on how and why manufacturers, importers, end users, and retailers must analyze, assess, declare, and register chemical substances.
SAB Bröckskes GmbH & Co. KG (hereafter referred to as “we”) manufactures electrical cables and temperature measurement products. According to REACH, we are classified as a downstream user of chemicals, such as polymers. Since these products are not subject to REACH registration, only materials and compounds require registration. We only supply finished products to the market.
Some substances may be present in our products as components of the raw materials used in their production. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) maintains an updated list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), which can be accessed at ECHA Candidate List.
We maintain ongoing communication with our suppliers regarding hazardous materials. If an SVHC substance is identified in our products at a concentration of ≥ 0.1% by weight, we initiate a substitution process to replace the affected material with an equivalent alternative. If substitution is not feasible, we fulfill our obligation to inform by declaring the substance in the relevant product documentation.
If a product does not contain SVHC substances, explicit declaration is not required.

REACH Appendix XVII - Materials Subject to Restrictions

Materials subject to application restrictions under EC Regulation 1907/2006 are listed in Annex XVII. These regulations are specific and explicitly defined for certain applications or for placing materials on the market. The restrictions apply to materials in their pure form, as compounds, and/or as components of products.

Information on POP

POP regulation (EC) 2019/1021 - persistent organic pollutants
The regulation on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP) is based on the Stockholm Convention on POPs and the POP Protocol under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP). Both international agreements aim to reduce or eliminate the production, use, and release of these hazardous substances.
In Europe, the Stockholm Convention is enforced through Regulation (EC) 2019/1021, also known as the EC POP Regulation, which came into effect on June 20, 2019. This regulation applies to substances listed in:
•  Annex I – Prohibited substances.
•  Annex II – Substances subject to restrictions.

Information on ELV

Prescriptions 2000/53/EC with regard to end of life vehicles (ELV)
This guideline applies to vehicles and end-of-life vehicles, including their components and materials. Among its key provisions is the prohibition of heavy metals, specifically lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium. Additionally, there is an overlap with the RoHS directive (see RoHS section for details).
