Temperature measurement with resistance thermometers (RTD) is based on the characteristic that conducting materials will change their electrical resistance depending on temperature. For metals, the resistance increases with rising temperature. If the relation between temperature and resistance is known, you can determine the temperature by measuring the resistance. Our standard mineral insulated resistance thermometers can measure between - 50°C up to + 600°. Resistance thermometers have a higher accuracy, reproducibility, and the measuring points are a little bit bigger than those of thermocouples.
