Posts Collection

This guide will help you create and manage content in the Posts collection of your Directus CMS. The Posts collection includes various content types such as Blog Posts, Press Releases, Brochures, Catalog Chapters, FAQs, Technical Documents, and more.

✍️ Creating a Post

Click on "Posts" in the main navigation.

Click "+ Create" to add a new post.

Select a Post Type from the dropdown.

Fill out the required fields based on the post type.

If the post is a Blog Post or Press Release, enter a Published Date — these are ordered chronologically.

Set the Status to "Published" to make the post live on the website.

Save the post.

🧩 Field Descriptions

✅ Spotlight (Checkbox)

When checked, the post will appear in the Homepage Spotlight Carousel just below the intro section.

Recommended for important or featured posts.

🖼️ Featured Image

Used differently depending on the post type:

  • Blog Posts: Displayed in blog cards and at the top of the full blog post.
  • Other Post Types: Used as thumbnail images throughout the site.

🔍 Recommended size: 1200x630px for best results.

📎 Media

Use this field to attach PDF files to specific post types:

• Brochure
• Catalog Chapter
• FAQ
• Technical Document
• VFD Motor Guide
• White Paper

📂 Attach a file from the Media Collection — you can create a new item, upload a file, or edit an existing one. The PDF will be available for download on the front end.

🏷️ Categories

Categories are used to power the "Filter Your Search" sidebar on the site.

  • You can tag the post with Product or Application categories.
  • Helps users narrow down content by relevance.

✨ Tip: Use consistent category tagging across similar content for a better user experience.

✅ Quick Tips

  • Always double-check that the post Status is set to Published if you want it live.
  • Preview is available for Blog Posts — use it to see how your post will appear before publishing.
  • Make use of the Categories to increase visibility and improve search filtering.
